Lets Van Gogh!

Woke up and decided today was Van Gogh Museum day. I didn’t plan on doing much today as my throat was killing me. This was my first museum of the trip and not much to show in the way of Renaissance art, which in my opinion is a good thing. I'm looking at you school sponsored art history trip!

Europe is waaaayyy too big on the Renaissance, shit, you cant throw a rock in Paris without hitting a picture containing a baby Jesus. Van Gogh was a little bit of a loon, so his artwork was interesting enough. I wandered around checking out the collection for a few hours. I feel like I don’t really stand and take in a picture like most people do. I see what i need to see in an instant. I truly wish i could savor art more. Maybe all of my art history classes ruined me? Sometimes I just need more than a painting.

On the way back I stopped in Dam Square and decided to go to the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. It was pretty cool, hadn’t been in a wax museum in a long time so it was overdue. Got my picture taken with James Bond. Also got a rather freaky tour of Old Amsterdam, in wax, with singing dwarves. It was pretty weird, but the Dutch tourists seemed to love it. After that I went back to the hostel, grabbed some falafel on the way, then passed out.
