Bariloche

Bariloche is the 'Lake District' of the south...but much better. It's a fully fledged ski resort in winter and boasts crystal clear lakes with beaches in the summer.

We were unfortunately only there for one whole day but the area left a big impression on us. We took a cable car up to one of the peaks in order to fully appreciate the beauty of the area. At the top we were greeted by amazing blue lakes set against a backdrop of snow capped mountains in the distance and dark evergreen forests surrounding the lakes. In fact the place does resemble the Swiss Alps a little and it was therefore no suprise to run into several large St.Bernard dogs and their adorable pups. How we didn't take one home with us God only knows.
