First day in Aruba

Finally Aruba! We had a 6:00 am flight so getting up at 3:30 was a lot of fun. Well, Tracy didn’t did have to get up… she was up all night packing. Kind of a long flight but I guess we’re just spoiled going to the Mexican Caribbean. There were a bunch of Thomson people on our flight. Our bus driver was really funny. She gave us the quick tour on the way to the hotel. Even where “everybody gets married”. Maybe Tracy and me could just knock this thing out! The Grand Hyatt is really nice. They just refurbished it and it’s a little contemporary. We have a nice from of the pool and the ocean from the top floor. Ok, I told Tracy I think we’re going to realize how stressed out and tired we have been while on this trip. We were going to feel ourselves “unwind”. Well, we feel asleep at 3:00 and didn’t wake up until 6:30. Yes, we needed that. Had a nice dinner by the pool. I was wondering what the “tone” would be. Everybody is in a very good mood. Yeah, it’s because we’re in Aruba and there are some concerns about the comp plan and such but everybody is having a good time. Good for us… we earned this trip! It’s good seeing everybody. We had a nice conversation with Sue at the bar. She’s so cool. We ended the night playing blackjack (go figure). After about an hour and a half we left the table with a $5.00 profit. The highlight of the casino though was the lady screaming across the casino from her table at the band to play The Doors and Madonna over and over. How many Doors AND Madonna fans are there?
