The side benefit of going to Alimona's wedding was to be able to make a trip to see Michael's brother (Peter),father (Sandy), and stepmother (Gina) in Vancouver. Peter and his girlfriend Jenn came up from Seattle for 2 nights on the weekend, which was great.
We spent the days lounging, eating, and strolling - perfect! There were some games of chess between Michael and Sandy. In one game Michael was distracted looking out the window onto the bay and noticing that the water, the far shore, and the sky were all gray. It was a beautiful mix of 9 different grays, pretty amazing.

We also enjoyed several nice walks through Stanley park, which recently suffered a lot of damage by a fierce storm or roving tree hating giants. We also payed a visit to the aquarium and said hello to the Beluga whales. The time there planted a seed in my and Erin's thoughts that we could move there or Seattle as a future place to live. Currently we are quite uncertain about where to live when our year away is over. Where is a good place to have and raise kids? So far we'd say: Edinburgh, Seattle, Italy. Where can we find work - probably in Nigeria, Siberia, Venezuela, or BFE.

Our flight plans took us back through Calgary, and then it was on to Grand Prairie, Texas, to repack and kiss Tim, May, Inky, Milo, and Twiggy goodbye and head out again.
