Cancun is a coastal city on the most eastern side at the Yucatan Peninsula. It is a huge tourist site with beautiful beaches and the Caribbean Sea which make it a beautiful and wonderful place to relax. Most of the hotels run right along the whole beach front and every five or so minutes down the road, you can find small shopping resorts and a big town with a thriving nightlife in the centre of it all. The whole resort itself takes around four million tourists a year so it can get busy during the evenings although it always does seem to stay warm all year.

What attracted me to this location was its easy access to Chichen-Itza (Mayan Pyramid) which has interested me for some time because of the history and civilisation behind it. My mother had previously visited Cancun the year before with her boyfriend so this gave me even more encouragement to go because she had done something I've been waiting to do for some time. I must admit that I was blown away by the whole place itself with its beautiful views and its beaches covered with warm white sands and surrounded by clear blue sea. The town nearby was pretty commercialised with places such as McDonalds, Pizza Hut (which we gave a try of course!) but also with small restaurants, shops, night clubs (we visited one that had three or four floors and wonderful entertainment!) and architecture scattered around. Everywhere was a short bus ride that stops outside most hotels and cost next to nothing so there wasn't anywhere you couldn't really get to within the town confines.

Cancun really was a fantastic place that I will always remember in the back of my mind as beautiful, well educating and vibrant

Cancun really was a fantastic place that I will always remember in the back of my mind as beautiful, well educating and vibrant. There isn't anybody I wouldn't recommend it to!
