From Vegas we hit Zion National Park to regroup and get our bearings. We made camp for two nights and were able to repack our "mobile apartment." Zion is a lot of rock, sheer rock faces at the bottom of a canyon. It's beautiful. And they have it set up so that the scenic portion of the park is accessible only by bus in order to reduce traffic and emmissions, so you can hop on and off at all the places you want to hike.
We did several hikes but Dove got scared and wimped out on the Angel's Landing hike (it said there were lots of scary heights!), but we enjoyed the hikes we did do by the river and up to Weeping Rock and the Emerald Pools. Honestly we came to Zion unprepared and we weren't aware of all the cool stuff there was to do there, so we missed a lot, including hiking in the Narrows, which is basically the place where the canyon is so narrow that only the river can run through it, so you are basically hiking in the river. Next time we'll know better.
