Hey guys! This morning we got up and packed up in Edmonton. Still a bit rainy but it has turned out to be a gorgeous day. We grabbed some groceries to carry us through the next few days and hit the road for Jasper. About half way there, sure enough we get pulled over by the RCMP. I knew I wasn't speeding ... only doing about 115 in a 110 zone ... anyway it turns out he pulled us over because the damn swift (our little car) is SOOOO full of stuff, that of course you can't see anything out the back!! Anyway after we had a nice chat with him (he was very impressed with our trip, and that we'd visited the new RCMP Heritage Centre at Depot in Regina) and re-arranged things a bit so we could see, we were on our way again. Thank god we didn't buy anything at the West Edm. Mall cause it never would have fit!!!

The drive into Jasper was incredible. These mountains are unreal. Awesome scenery. We got in around 5 and first visited the Fairmont Jasper Lodge and golf course, then set up camp. Then we came into town for dinner at a local brew pub. Also we visited the Jasper Tram location, but decided not to ride it since it was 50 bucks and I probably would have crapped my pants, since it seemed to go 8 miles into the air on this little cable thing. Anyway, it was still a great view from the launch point as even there you were 3/4 of the way up the mountain. Very cool.
The Swift is REALLLLY full.
Anyway gonna grab an ice cream cone and hit the sack i'd say. There are "beware of bears" signs everywhere at our campground, so if there aren't any more blog transmissions for a while, we've probably been eaten. It's been nice knowing you guys. Wish us luck!! Hah!!
