Bondi Beach - Our Final Days

Our final full day in Australia was a leisurely one. Julia finally showered (it was too cold in Candelo!) and then we went to the BEST breakfast place - Trio. Mango lime pancakes for Romy with a Cappacino and "Boss Eggs" for Julia with scrambled eggs with cheese, prosciutto, avocado, and sourdough toast with the best Chai Latte of the trip so far. Then we went a bit further down to the real boardwalk section of Bondi Beach where we got heaps of great souvenirs. Romy just had to take off her shoes, socks, (and ace bandage!), and try out the super soft Bondi sand and freezing cold surf while Julia took pics of the Asian tourists posing with the lifeguard surf board. Fun fun. We stopped for a bit to watch the crazy skateboarders in the skate park and then wandered along the water's edge - tons of cool rock formations - all the way back to Tamarama Bay by our hostel. After a quick check that our rental car was still parked where we left it, we decided to jump in and save ourselves the walk to Bronte Beach and the nearby Waverly Cemetery. Romy really wanted to stay and get some more cool pics, but the showers that were threatening all day finally arrived and we got a bit soaked as we ran back to the car. Across the street from the hostel we ate a late lunch - again GREAT food - Haloumi Pie for Romy and Brie and Tomato Croissant for Julia (plus the best fruit salad - no melon - yea!). Our stomachs content once again we've been catching up on the blog for the past 3 hours (over $12 in Internet fees - ugh!) and will now head off to the hostel recommended Trattoria for dinner (where we hope to meet some seriously beautiful people as the tour guide promised). Tomorrow we leave for the airport around 11am, return the beloved rental car, and enjoy our 14 hour Quantas flight back to SF. How many movies can we fit in?!? It's been a fun trip, but alas it's come to an end. See you all back in the States! Who knows where we'll go next time...
