Again, have i been here?

Apparently ive been to windsor before with my parents, but i have no recollection. at that age, i would have had to be shat on by a herd of pigeons or some other crazy experinece to remember anything, and even then it would be a most brief reminiscence brought on by my parents trying to convince me that it had indeed happen.

anyhow, the last day, sunday, was dedicated to visiting windsor in a bit more detail and sorting out last bits and bobs like making photo cds and buying toys and souvenirs, which is what we did after waking up at a decent hour and then having a shortish breakfast... another fine day as we strolled into town at a leisurely pace and we walked up the high street and dove into Jessops and Boots to sort out the photos. When we finally got to the castle, it was closed as there was some massive scouts event on, which looked odd, and lots of disappointed tourists sitting outside thinking what to do next. With Nia at hand, we had a plan and that was to take a look at Eton college across the river from Windsor castle... we stopped at the George pub by the river for a quick drink first, and then wandered around the Eton campus which was quaint and quiet as i guess it was a weekend and headed back towards town for more hustle and bustle and burn off some calories and time. Before we knew it we were suddenly on a rowing boat floating on the thames. Again it was a fine day and another marine adventure for Marco who was a natural again...i tried for a bit but failed against the fierce tides of the thames (not really fierce. at all)...after this brief relaxing for some end to the holiday, we return to the flat, packed up and drop Marco first at Heathrow for his flight back to Germany, and it was rapidly just Lia and Elaine left when i caught a train from the beautiful Slough :) many thanks to Lia for being a great hostess and bring forth our next reunion!
