Flying into Sydney we were both now concerned about Tracey's leg, which had swollen to twice its size, with a blister on her shin, which we hoped was an infected bite from the sand flies. We got the bus from the airport to Coogee, asking the driver to let us know when we got to the stop we needed to change at, which he duely forgot to do. We ended up in Bondi Junction, and managed to catch a bus from there direct to Coogee, and quickly found our hostel, which was above Macdonalds on the beach front.

We checked in and asked where the nearest chemists was. When there the Pharmacist said it was probably an infected bite, but sent us to the doctors across the road as he could not prescribe anti-biotics himself. After a half hour consultation, Tracey was told she should go to hospital emergency room as the doctor was concerned that she had just got of a long haul flight. So we spent the next seven hours in the emergency room, waiting for Traceys turn and then first and second opinions on her leg. Conclusion- infected insect bites, and a week long course of anti-biotics. So we had spent the day to find out what the Pharmacist had told us at the begining. Well at least now we could relax about it.

The next day we did the coastal walk North to Bondi Beach, which is about 7 miles, took nearly 3 hours and was extremely picturesque. Very recommended by us both. factor 30 was not enough to keep us from burning.

Once we reached Bondi, we met with PK, who Joe knows from Roehampton days, for a few beers at a bar near the beach. It was funny to see PK out there, we had arranged to meet loosely before, but still weird.

Hostel life was not particularly suited to Tracey, as we were in a four share room, and we had bunks(Joe on top), but to get to our room we had to walk through a ten share, with not so friendly occupants, unhappy about us disturbing them. Also Joe shared his bathroom with cockroaches.

On our third morning we checked out to make our way to the city proper....
