Final days

Well after arriving on the train from Largos I had a night in Porto. The next day we rented a car and headed to the Duoro valley where we found good food and plenty of wine. The valley has amazing terracing all over it and we did a short boat trip up the river to see some of the landscape. We also managed a very good lunch on the river at D.O.C. and stayed in a lovely little Tourismo Rural. The fellow there was very helpful and gave us a good Quinta to visit. We just missed the end of the harvest with men cruching grapes with their feet.

Back in Porto, a ramble of streets, great hills and some pretty houses iwth tiles on the outside. Off to try port today. Wonderful weather. Will try and do a train trip out to a Northern town tomorrow as  Megan is off to Spain.
