Having experienced metal mouth watch you while we showered we left pronto to Isla del Sol. A pleasant 1.5 boat ride in which to burn accordingly before landing at the foot of the Inca stair way. Full back packs guitar etc then had to walk up these steep stairs bloody hard work!
After the ambush of kids offering accommodation we settled for a standard sea view hotel for 1.20 a night...
Due tot he fact that the hike itself i like 6 hours we didn´t do it that day instead opted for trying to do it the next day before the last boat...

So after taking in the Island we made a brief attempt at a hill walk to catch some views and realised how hard 4000m altitude is to walk in! Great news for the Inca Trail!
Had a cool but def not gay home cooked meal at a little secluded restaurant which had no electricity just candle lights and witnessed the daily occurrence of massive 360 thunderstorms!
Managed to get an early one and head out early on our very budgeted trip across the hills to the Temple of the Sun took around 2.5 hours. Amazing views ranging from dusty desert and mountains to lake district eske and then some tropical Jurassic park plants to boot. Great navigation skills took us to the village in the north and luckily there was a boat to take us south and stop for an hour in which we had to do the inca stairs and then get our bags and descend...again knackering!!

Cruised into a considerably more lively Copacabana for sunset and we checked into a hotel something like the Hotel Paradiso just no Eddie or Ritchie! For the record the guy said 40 bs for a double room....this is important.
Due to our restricted cash we decided against booze and ate 4 burritos instead at a very native mexican restaurant!
So after the classic half hour late checkout we were confronted by the guy at desk saying the price was actually 80bs.... we had 50bs and he was lying so Owen escaped leaving me inside...great...he trapped the wrong one as I had no cash. After telling him he was a liar etc and him trying to call his friends the guns came out to over power the man and get out...moving quickly we then spent the next 2 hours sketching out and suspecting every group of Bolivians were out to get us we caught our bus and managed to get over the border to safety! Welcome to Peru...local beer Cusquena!
