Lost in Mendoza!

The 9 hour bus journey to Mendoza went pretty smoothly with nice views of the Andes as we crossed the Chilean/Argentinian border. I arrived late in the evening and armed with my poco espanol I asked for directions to a hostel that was recommended and was close to the bus stations, but proceeded to get lost a few times before finally finding that the hostel was fully booked out! With my backpack now aching my shoulders I wandered into the city centre and having finally realised that the yellow taxis only seem to stop at designated areas, where a local can get a few pesos for flagging down the taxi and helping with your luggage, I finally made it to a hostel 2 hours after arriving at the bus station!! Thankfully the hostel was quite nice and I was able to chill there for the evening.

Mendoza is nice enough town in parts and is mostly famous for its nearby vineyards and outdoor activities but since this was winter I just spent a few days there chilling out and wandering around the town and debating whether to go to Bariloche for skiing or Cordoba for the students. Tough choice but I went for the students and so took a 9 hour overnight cama bus with Andesmar to Cordoba.
