Got had breakfast and soon after we left on Joe's Water Taxi (a few motorboats) for the Sawa-i-Lau Caves.
These caves are the resting place of the ten-headed ancient Fijian god, Ulutini. Each chamber represents his heads along with one human head. The caves are famous in Fiji for their legend and mythology.

On the way to the caves, Gemma, Ryan and I did a middle of the ocean motorboat switch to even out the boats.

When we got to the caves we had a short walk up the steps and into the caves. To enter the caves we walked down a few steps and then jumped into the cool water.
The first cavern was beautiful and you float and look at the rock formations around you, while everyone else is getting into the water. To enter the second cavern you have to swim for a very short way underneath the water and rock. I was the first one of the group to swim under. It was kind fo spooky, kind of cool being the first into the pitch black cavern treading water in the dark by myself. A moment of peace! It got quite crowded on the rocks as everyone came in and was hanging on. I was eventually pushed back into a corner of the cave to tread water so that the people that needed to hang on to the rock could do so. Once everyone was into the cavern we set off on a swim and sing through the caves we stopped at a place that would echo everything we yelled out! We sang 'Row Row Row Your Boat' on the swim back, got to swim under the rock again and then watched as our Fijian guides climbed the rocks in the first chamber and jumped back into the water from very high up!

Soon it was time to head back to Sunrise for lunch. After lunch we had a swim. The water was bathwater warm on this side of the island. Not too refreshing but better than sizzling in the sun. Lazed around on the beach and had some green coconut flesh. I missed out on the juice. Doh! I love cocout juice. Watched a few people weave some coconut bracelets.
Before dinner the Michelles had told us that they had a bath in the ocean that morning, instead of going into the dark and scary shower blocks. Munni and I thought this was a great idea and all 4 of us went to get our shower bags. It was quite funny seeing us all there in the ocean washing our hair! I had a waterproof orange bag over my shoulder with all my stuff in it and Munni had her shampoo, conditioner, and shower puff stuck into her bikini bottoms! It was quite comical! but sooo refreshing! We all felt so much better and cleaner afterwards and my hair came untangled finally!

Had dinner and then went to the traditional singing and dancing. This was quite interesting and I really like the traditional Fijian music. We got to get up and dance and had a wonderful time. Afterwards Munni and I walked down the beach to a small group that was at a bonfire. Sitting out in the beautiful cool wind, chatting was so nice. I was not looking forward to going back to the cramped, stuffy dorm but eventually had to.
During the night I got so hot and claustrophobic that I had to take the mosquito net off to let what little breeze there was to come through. I got bit many times on my legs but luckily they never started itching too bad.
