Liberia
From Costa Rica - Central America in Liberia, Costa Rica on Jul 11 '07
We arrived in Liberia at 10:30pm and so had no choice but to stay the night here.
Known as the white city (no idea why really...) this cattle town has a population of 40,000 people and is not very happening! We realised right away that Cost Rica is an expensive country to travel in (compared to South and Central American countries) when all we could find were two dorm beds in an 8-bed dorm for USD 6 p/p... With a door that did not lock and (cold) showers that were to be found on the second floor of some building at the back. It was good enough as we were really tired and planned to catch an early bus into Nicaragua the next day. Too tired to find a restaurant we decided not to explore Liberia that night..
