Dinner and Entertainment
From Mel's Moroccan Mumblings in Marrakech, Morocco on May 07 '07
Shortly after my last journal entry was completed, I found myself wandering the Djemaa el Fna at dusk, to eat amongst the loonies.
In no time I was manhandled onto some bench beneath a canopy, lit by lanterns, squashed between a Japanese girl and some other randoms. The waiters and cook all shout to the passers-by 'Yoohoo hawwww yallahhahaha hooo' to vy for their attention over the other stalls, and so the meal was nothing if not noisy. The service was fast, and in no time I was sat chomping olives, salad and a chicken tajine, staring at the cook stiring his big smoky cauldronm and hearing all the sounds from the performers and various crazies around me.
All in all, a real experience and one I shall repeat on my return to Marrakech, no doubt.
I finished the evening, with an ice-cream from a nearby stall and collapsed into bed in preparation for my early start.
