Wellington is a funny place, it's the capital of new Zealand but about the size of Bournemouth, maybe? It's a funky place though, quite arty and cultural. We spent the night free camping in a car park on the seafront and had some very yummy fish and chips! The next day we visited Te Papa, the museum and spent the morning learning all there is to know about NZ. Then coffee and cake and we were out of there...
The reason was no fault to Wellington, just that we had been told of a wicked place to do some white water rafting. So we headed up to this Lodge, so far in the middle of nowhere we never thought we'd make it! But we did and rafted some crazy grade 4 rapids for the afternoon. Totally exhilerating and completely confirmed to me how much I love ww rafting!!
