It was great to meet up with my good friend, Scott, who is studying in Sevilla. He has been studying there for two months and didn't know his way around the city at all, it was an adventure going anywhere.
The cathedral was beautiful and we hiked up the main tower and saw beautiful views of the city. I was able to see the bull ring. Many of the buildings in Sevilla are white to keep them cooler in the hot summer months. We went to a place called Buddha Bar when we arrived and it had a great atmosphere. Many of the bars in Sevilla gave free peanuts with the drinks, which was exciting for me. Also, water is free there. I was so suprised because water in Barcelona is more expensive than soda sometimes.

Alcazar was a surreal castle with green gardens. Placa Espanya was very cool as well because they had over 30 maps there of spanish cities. The maps were made out of colorful ceramic tiles and it was fun to look at them. Placa Nueva was fun too. There were tons of children running around and the children in Spain dress so sophisticated (almost nicer than their parents). There were 4 men dressed as Indians playing beautiful music. We saw two weddings there and they were very pretty. The river was very quaint. There was a cute bridge over it and people wee riding paddleboats underneath. That night, there were tons of people walking down the street with signs that said "abrazos gratis", which means free hugs. Everytime someone would ask for a hug they would all hug and cheer and clap. It was the silliest thing I have ever seen.

Carnaval was a good time. We took an hour busride to Cadez, which is a beach town outside of sevilla. All of us dressed up and there were many interesting costumes there. I danced with some Spanish children on stage and bar hopped along the lighted streets. I am glad I got to experience it!
