Cozumel was awesome!! One of the most relaxing vacations I've had. Once we found our favorite beach, Playa Palancar, we pretty much landed there every day to bask in the sun. We did drive to the other side of the island once or twice, but we still prefered our little quiet Palancar Beach. There was a monkey that lived there named, Mona Lisa, that loved the tourists, and took a liking to us as well. She often would run off with our things if we weren't too careful, but mostly she was sweet and even took naps on our chests like a baby. Very cute! I highly recommend renting a house for a long trip like ours. Having the luxury of your own kitchen and the bonus of a pool was so nice. It rained a few days in Cozumel, so we would just hang out at the house and read or jump in the pool. And we cooked most evenings to save money. There was a grocery store in walking distance, so we stalked up our fridge with all the essentials, and even packed our lunch a few times. The fish tacos at the beach were delicious though. We took a day trip into Tulum which was great, except for the water park Xel-ha. Not really what we were looking for, too touristy, but great for kids. Tulum was really cool though, and the beaches there looked amazing. The sand was fine, and the water was so blue. We talked about going back there sometime to stay in Akumel.

Overall, we had a great trip and brought in the New Year on the beach with a group of fellow traveller's, dancing and watching the sun rise for 2000. Awesome!!!

One of the most relaxing vacations I've had.
