Macedonia coming to an end!

Well, hard to believe our time here is almost up! We are scheduled to leave back to Madrid in 2 weeks, just when it was starting to feel like home!  The weather has been unbelievable here, all of a sudden the city has come alive, everyone is out on patio's, enjoying the weather!  Spring is definately here, it was 20 Degrees today and I think it is only getting better.

The higlight of February, was when Nick came to visit, there is nothing better than sharing this experience with friends!!! Nick is from Croatia, so he understands and speaks the language here, which was awesome, he helped us in 2 of our meetings and we had a great time showing him around!

After Nick's visit, we had several meetings around the country and did alot of driving to neighbouring cities!  We went to Greece for the day, but unfortunately my camera ran out of battery and I missed out on some amazing pictures.....but we are definately going to go back next weekend and Greece is sooo beautiful, we only wish we had more time to travel around!!!

Touring around to meetings isn’t all that bad when you are interviewing wineries.  Macedonia has a long tradition of wine making and we had the opportunity to visit some of the best in the region.  We met with Tikves Winery, the largest winery in Eastern Europe, it was huge and with production of 45 MILLION litres (bottles) a year, exporting worldwide…..you can imagine what we saw!!  The best part was leaving the winery, after a very heavy wine tasting….with 19 bottles of wine and a few bottles of their new champagne!!!

Ry was missing home and is back in Canada for a couple of days, while I hold down the fort here!  We are really looking forward to our next destination and  will keep you posted on where we are headed!
