Sevilla is definately a different pace that bustling Madrid. There is a huge pedestrian only area in the heart of the town, which we quickly discovered when our taxi driver could not take us to the door of our hotel. He even pointed out some of the narrow streets that were no bigger than one person wide! It was amazing.
Once we had settled into our hotel, we strolled through the narrow lanes, and sucked in when cars would try to pass. We actually had to lean against the walls of the surrounding buildings in order to avoid being clipped by the side mirrors of the passing vehicles!

The orange tree lined streets are so Spain! There are tons of cute tapas tabernas and cafes. We stopped at a few for tasty treats and sangria of course. We also passed by the giant Cathedral of Sevilla. It is the third largest cathedral in the world next to St. Peters in Rome and the one in London. It is a gothic gem. The towering gargoyles and spires are creepily cool at night! We ended the night with more tapas, and slept with full bellies.
The next day, we headed to Alcatar, the home of Spains king and queen. It is an UNESCO world hertitage sight, and I can see why! It was absolutely incredible. There are Muslim influences in the architecture, and it all was amazing. Without the pictures right now, I will just say you will have to wait and see!

After the palace, we took a tour of the Cathedral, and climbed up the bell tower. The arial view of Sevilla shows off the red tiled roofs and glistening river in the distance. The Cathedral has a garden of orange trees that is so picturesque. I took lots of photos!
We ended the evening with a flamenco show! It is a traditional passionate dance performed by both men and women individually. The dancer is accompanied by a guitarist and a melodic singer. The songs sound so dramatic and sad, and the dancer is so energetic. It was impressive, despite the fact Will had trouble paying attention. Poor boy! I do have to say though, that Sevilla and the south of Spain definately deserve a visit again!
