We stopped in Denver for about 25 minutes or so. Tenneille and I hoped off and walked around the station and neighboring shops in search of some tea or coffee somewhere. No luck. Nothing in the station and no shops open around the station yet.

we're heading right through the Rocky Mountains and the Continental Divide

It was chilly! I only had a long sleeve shirt on with my jeans and it wasn’t quite enough. I snapped a few shots of the Denver Union Station and headed back into the warmth of the train. We’ll be off shortly, winding ever closer to the mountains. I’m looking forward to getting a decent shot of them.

I was just informed by the man on the loudspeaker that he is a representative from the Rails and Trails service and is going to be giving a verbal tour of the sights we are going to see along this stretch of the rail. He informed us that we will be leaving the High Plains and heading right through the Rocky Mountains and the Continental Divide. I can’t wait!
