We left Mount Juliet & Kilkenny with sadness and vows that we would return as soon as we can.

Our time at Mount Juliet got even better after our first entry--We made great friends also staying at the estate --a couple from Calgary who shared the same interests, she also an avid equestrian and he a golfer--so we all fell into a comfortable schedule of playing during the day riding & golfing and then sharing drinks in the pub when the clubs and saddles were put away in the evening--we also had great fun getting to know many of the staff at the Estate as well as an Irish couple who share time between New York & Mount Juliet--they were fantastic and warm fast friends .We did a little sighsteeing between gales one day and visited--Jerpoint Abbey and the little village of Instioge-where the Minnie Driver movie "circle of friends" was filmed when it was time to leave on Thursday we were sad to have to say goodbye to our new 2nd home.

we all fell into a comfortable schedule of playing during the day riding & golfing and then sharing drinks in the pub when the clubs and saddles were put away in the evening

We left Mount Juliet mid-day on thursday to drive up north to Trim--a heritage town and famous for the Trim Castle which was featured in "braveheart"-the trip tok almost 3 hours as Irish roads are narrow and slow--but the scenery was beautiful --as i said in our review of the hotel we had booked for our last 2 nights--Knightsbrook was an unfinished diamond in the rought---we had booked it as it was to have a brand new golf course--but was sad to find it was hardly near completion--but  anyway and the room was clean & comfortable, and really what more can you ask for!--- we did  a whirlwind tour of Meath on Friday managing to fit in wonderful visits to Newgrange--oldest man-made monument on the planet--amazing & inspiring!--the Hill of Tara --which was filled with sheep & Trim Castle as well as Jake getting in 18 holes on the course in the afternoon.

We loved every minute we had in the Emerald Isle--it has definatly won our hearts over and we will return there as soon as we can.--There is more driving, golfing & riding to be had!

thanks for reading!
