WOW !!!! Once again.....we discovered a little piece of paradise !!!

Tacuba itself is a quiet town....not much happening there, but once outside you enter the surrounding beautiful countryside & the National Park " El Imposible".

It truly is an amazing place & the views INCREDIBLE !

I had been reading up on this park for ages and wanted to do the 6-7 hour hike through the park  - I only managed to  convince Lissa to do it by telling

her  it was 'mostly' down hill....so,  when we got to Tacuba we booked into

"Mama y Papa's"  a family run hostal - v v friendly parents, and the son, a very friendly & aimable guy, Manolo, was our guide for the park.   That evening he convinced us to do his new hike..... We set off around 9ish and drove into the park (Lissa was reassured about

the amount of up hill driving at this point!!).  The hike involved some river

walking (canyoning) and waterfalls - (jumping off them...)  The highest was about 10metres but believe me, from the top it looked a lot higher!!!

GREAT FUN ! I was in my element & loved the whole day. Unfortunately we couldn´t take any cameras...for obvious reasons, but I have all the memories stored up in my head !!! The park was beautiful....wild & partially unexplored, which made for some great hiking too.

When we returned...I couldn´t wipe the smile off my face, even though I was exhausted !! In the evening....Manolo then took us to some private hot springs to relax & sooth our aching limbs along with the obligatory medicinal bottle of rum !....truly a "Wonderfilled Day" !!!!

During the night, we were all awoken by a series of quite strong tremors which shook the whole house. I was actually down in the kitchen at the time, getting some water, when suddenly the fridge started to shake, rattle & roll !!! It carried on through the night & we were told to get outside if they got any stronger. So.....a bit of excitement on our last night there..... which continued through to the morning as there was another huge tremor when we were waiting for the bus..........you actually saw the bus physically shaking !!!!!!

That was on the morning of the 20th,  where we caught a bus to the capital, San Savador & stayed in a hotel next to the TICA Bus terminal. We wandered about the city  & had a "last supper" with Katharine, then went to bed only to get up at 4am for the bus !!!!

Unfortunately...as we were due to return to Nicaragua for Christmas....we only had a short time in this beautiful country....but I shall return as the people & places we visited were simply amazing !!!!
