Denver is probably the best place to start a visit to the USA. It has a huge, modern, well planned international airport; modern highways, good infrastructure, and a great environment.

Located on between the plains and the Rockies, you have a big, bustling modern city with great opportunites for hiking, climbing & sightseeing.

Denver Art Museum is said to be out of this world; sadly it was closed because they were moving exhibits across to the new extension while we were there.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science is an excellent facility with stunning displays of natural history and minerals; and an excellent interactive zone for the kiddies.

Downtown Denver is easily reached by bus from anywhere out of town; it has the historic Lobo area, a pedestrianised 15th street with shops, offices, and bars; the business area; and the state Capitol with its satellite buildings.

What we did here

Di & Alan met us at the airport and took us home. Great to be able to relax, and lovely to see them again!

Sunday (1 May) we went for a short hike along Coal Creek, which comes down from the Rockies and meanders acroos the plains, ending up in the Mississipi. There are excellent trains and cycle paths alng the creeks and over the mesas.

We spent a day downtown, it's a great shame the Art Museum was closed though. We spent a couple of days up in the mountains, went to the Science Museum on afternoon (Saw BODYWORLDS 2) and helped paint the garage doors and the fence!
