Guangzhou is a very beautiful and clean city. It is a very well developed city with efficent Mass transit and no traffic jam. Lots of flowers all over the place (no wonder it isa called the FLOWER CITY).
the only downside is that most CHinese cannot speak english....not even a YES or NO.. but it is quite an exeprience if you want to learn how to speak Chinese.

Guangzhou is Cantonese speaking but some can actually understand Mandarin.

It is a must that you bring your own toiletries because there aren't any ENglish marked products in the market.
Lots of bargains all over the place...from wathces, to shirt, to bags, and even cosntruction hardware. Taxis are metered and you get receipts so there is no plroblem going around...although the MTR is very conveient and cheap...
