Lake Tahoe

We arrived in South Lake Tahoe on Thursday evening.  I think Lars & I could live happily in Lake Tahoe - mountains, water and gambling all in one place! Plus everyone is so friendly. On Friday, we walked around town and found that the World Series of Poker Circuit was having an event in the local casino, so we watched some of the pros play for awhile.  We left so that we didn't waste an entire day indoors....

We then drove up the east side of the lake stopping at Sands Harbor (which is a Nevada State Park).  The water is so clear that it is greenish-blue and beautiful. The snowcapped mountains in the background are unbelievable. Lars said it reminds him of Norway.  Where else can you literally walk across the street and go downhill skiing and waterskiing?

We then made our way to the Biltmore Hotel and played some blackjack - lost $20 and took off for Shana's house in Kings Beach.

We arrived to meet up with Shana, Dennis, his girlfriend Alice and a bunch of their friends.  We then went out for a nice walk with the dogs - Shana lives right on the border of a National Forest.  We went out for dinner and then drove down the west side of the Lake.  It was a great day!!
