Hello everyone.  My last adventure in the United Kingdom took me through more history.  I took a tour of stonehenge, Bath, and Stratford.  I joined a tour that took the entire day and had a very nice bus and guide that helped explain the history of these places.  The first stop along the way was stonehenge.  I was very excited to see this monument but found it a little less special than one would have thought.  The stones are sinking into the ground which has made it so that you can not walk through it anymore.  About 25 yards off you can walk all the way around but you are not that close.  There are also tombs there as well and both date back to 3050 B.C. A few years older than me. The troubling part about this is that the main road is only about 30 feet away and you really wouldn't even need to pay to get the views that are available.  All that said it was still a great site to see and there still is no final answer to what it was used for.!! After stonehenge we drove to a very small little village for lunch.  We ate at a pub that was supposed to be the second oldest pub in all of the United Kingdom.  The other great thing was that this was my first real meal since I have been traveling.  Roast beef, potatoes, green beens and a coke!  Don't worry, I have been eating, but not meals.  Mostly tasting things as I come across them and then buying food from the grocery store.  After lunch we drove to the city of Bath.  It is beautiful.  As we drove in the Georgian style homes are all along the hillside making a great view.  The tour of the Roman Bath house was amazing.  It still works today, though they do not allow people to get in.  Only tour it.  The Romans were amazing builders as is evidence that this is still standing.  Lastly the tour took us to the town of Stratford.  This is probably a place that most of you will have not heard of.  This was the birthplace of William Shakespeare.  They have turned is house into a Museum which was fun to go and walk through.  At the end of the journey the tour gave us all Champaigne and scones with strawberries and cream!!!MMMMMMMmmmmmmm.  Until my next entry......
