Up for breakfast at the crack of 10am. After a full breakfast of sausages, cheese, and other Russian things that I probably should remember, but don't.\r

\r

We begin our walk to the fishing resort around 11:30. It will be a 9km walk, and Ilya is getting worried that we will not be there by 2pm for lunch. We are unphased. Our walk takes us along the shores of Lake Baikal. We take a side trip to a dry lake bed. Well, it isn't that dry, though in two weeks it will be. During the winter, the ground freezes, allowing water to collect during the thaws in May. The water stays until the ground is warmed to the point that the water can seep back in.\r

\r

We continue past many Russian families that are having camping trips by the lake. Sadly, most of them are not picking up after themselves, as their garbage is everywhere. Boo-urns to that. \r

\r

We arrive at the camp just at 2pm, having Ilya drag behind us most of the way. Apparently, she is used to the tourists falling behind her, not the other way around. We have lunch of fish soup, noodles, & fish cakes, all made with the local omul fish. we poke around for a bit after eating. Dad is not interested in walking back(none of us are), and hires the owner of the camp to take us back in his boat. At a mere $10, is it probably the cheapest taxi ride I will ever have.\r

\r

We return home, have a banya, and dinner. Ilya leaves, and I am forced to use my Russian skills to communicate. Thankfully, I aquit myself well. I end up talking with Fiia for another hour after dinner before heading to bed. Without electricity, I am forced to read by flashlight.
