I travelled to San Pedro with a girl (Anka) who I met in Iquique. We took the bus overnight for 7 hours and arrived mid morning.

That day we wondered around town and also went on a tour to the Valle de la Luna (valley of the moon) so named as the rock formations resemble the surface of the moon. We climbed a huge sanddune to watch the sunset as the colours over the valley change dramatically unfortunately there were a lot of clouds so the view wasn´t so dramatic. We also visited the Salar de Atacama and Valle de Muerte (death valley).

The next day we got up at 3.30am to go to the Tatio geysers. They are 2 hours drive away and are most dramatic first thing in the morning when the air is minus 10 around them, my face was so cold my mouth stopped working! We then visited some hot springs and a small village and returned to San pedro for lunch.

On day 3 I spent the whole day on a bus 23 hours to be precise to Santiago. It only cost 25 pounds and i got two sandwiches and snacks so not bad value but my legs are killing me!
