Arrived in Osaka mid afternoon. My 1st impressions were not that good. The place was full of concrete highrises, very industrial. Didnt help that it was dull and grey either. The hotel i was staying in was really nice, it was just the area that was a tad dodgey. Lots of weird locals wandering around. I took a few wrong trains but eventually made it down to the harbourfront. i went the Worlds Largest Ferris Wheel. I had a carriage all to myself. Got really good views of the city and just confirmed my 1st instincts that it is a "concrete city".

Largest Ferris Wheel in the World
Well awoke to the pissing rain, superb! Had no notion to go outside and had no clue what to do. Osaka isnt exactally full of attractions. I had considered going to Kobe or Nara but with the crappy weather I saw no point. I ended up going into the city centre to see Japans "arc de triompe", bit of an eye sore if you ask me. I then got the train to Festival gate and wandered around the local market and shops. Not one of my funfilled days out!
