Wow!!!  I LOVE NEW YORK!  Had a fantastic day today.  Started out early and walked down to Central Park.  New York had a blizzard over the weekend (when we were in Canada) and had over 75cm of snow so the streets are covered in snow.  The sun is shining though and it is a beautiful day.  It was nice to see all of the kids playing in the snow and riding in the park on their sleds.   There are snowmen on each corner! Central Park is huge and full of lots of squirrels.  It is amazing place - right in the middle of the city.  Had the most disgusting "cold dog" from a street vendor in the park... Won't do that again.

Proceeded to Times Square which looks just like it does in the movies.  Neon everywhere.  The Toys R Us store in Times Square is amazing.

Spent a lot of time just wandering around the city.  Walking past buildings like the Chrysler Building, The Empire State Building, The National Library etc.  Everything looked familiar - just like it does on TV.

Went to Brooklyn and walked over the Brooklyn Bridge.  I was surprised to learn that the wife involved in building the bridge died before the husband.  I thought he died first.  Wingy finally got his wizz bang MP3 player from a huge computer store in Manhattan.. and has been trying to work it out ever since.

Walked down to Ground Zero.  It was a bit weird to see so much space in the middle of Manhattan -  and quite overwhelming when you imagine the size of the Twin Towers.  Wingy is obsessed with taking photos of planes flying near buildings.  We had to wait quite a while so he could get a good shot???

Proceeded to Wall Street and saw the Stock Exchange.  Wandered around Little Italy and Soho.

To end the night - and just to rest for a while... we caught a play on Broadway called "The Producers".  Very funny.  On the walk back home we walked past a cafe that had been used in the scene from "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.

...Every time Wingy hears an american accent he says "God Damn!"... I hope he gets over it soon!!
