this entry was not meant  to be written. i've already tried twice and both times it's been deleted. here's the watered down version of bangladesh.

if you've read my last entry, maybe u'd assume that bangladesh is a difficult city for a tourist to navigate. not so if you have your own person bangladeshi family tour guides complete with male model, bangladeshi harry potter look alike brother and mother with super human powers in the kitchen. i was blown away by their genersoity, as they took us in with open arms, hearts, and even wallets since they attmepted to pay for everything, despite our persistent protesting.

my new view of Bangladesh: sensational, thought provoking, spectacular. the family showed us an amazing time; we  were told ALL about the culture, they drove us around in a car showing us the sights and Anique, the model ,even escorted us to cox's bazar, 8 hours away from dhaka and home of the world's longest beach.

some of my favorite things about Bangladesh: 1. food food food. we ate like obese queens. all the seemingly effortless weight i'd lost on the diarreah diet has been restored. if there's one thing bangladeshi's know how to do, it's cook for their guests. every day and every meal the table overflowed with traditional bangladeshi food that was both aestheticaly and palately pleasing. the meals consisted of rice, and various exotic bangladesh vegetables, most of which i'd never even knew existed. Anique tried to teach me to eat traditional style (read eating with hands), but i failed miserably since more food ended up on me than in my mouth. maybe i was better off, as watching everyone else eat with their  rice and veg/meat mush covered hands (effortlessly of course) was not very condusive to my appetite.

2. warm, friendly, genuine people. a refreshing change from india where the men give seedy stares and everyone wants your money. no one tried to rip us off in bangladesh, and we were always met by smiles and curious stares, much different from the dirty stares we get in india. evryone was SO nice to us, it's really indescribeable.

3. Green-ness. lush palm trees, and various other brightly colored green plants made up the landscape just outside the city. sooo pretty.

4. the longest beach in the world. need i say more?

there are so many more amazing things i could write about bangladesh, but seeing as i wasted the last 2 hours wrting deleted entries i have no more time. let me just say, everyone should go to bangladesh. go. go now. don't wait. really.
