I route that I had planned did not planned out like I thought it would.
Well we woke up early and had an excellent breakfast (way to much to eat). Eating and enjoying the fellowship, we had a great time talking with the relatives.
Changes in the planned route - All ok
When we left the relatives place to start the trip, we were going to do the old part of route 66 through Oatman, BUT when we started the road it had a warning that vehicles over a certain size should not pass Oatman. O darn we are to long. So I decided we will go up to Bullhead City and head on over to Kingman. Making the u-turn was going to be hard because we where on a two lane road and trying to turn a 29' motorhome and 21' trailer was going to be hard to find a spot to do that. I was in luck, about 50 yards ahead, I can see where cement trucks had used the shoulders to turn into there yard and I could easily turn the RV around. Once turned around we where on our way to Kingman.

Street Atlas had a wonderful time trying to reroute us to Oatman, but I finally delete that stopping point.
Once at Kingman, we filled up with gas and headed towards our next stop – Grand Canyon Caverns on Route 66. One our way to the Caverns we raced a train – man when they pick up speed they GO. We make it to the turn off and started heading for the caverns. Heading down the road I was starting to think ‘am I on the correct road?’ Finally we arrived. While waiting for our time for the tour we had lunch.

Next stop in my route is Walnut Canyon National Monument. I have read on the internet that it was not wise to take large RV into the park, but when I started down the road it had no restriction, just a statement about tight turnaround. There was plenty of parking for the RV (all 51’ ) When we went in to the visitor center to inquire about a tour we were late about 20 minutes (no wonder there was plenty of parking.) So we walked the canyon rim and still able to see the cliff dwellings.

Next stop is Meteor Crater. On the way on the I40, I read about a radio station giving information about Meteor Crater so I tuned in and found out that its open late. So Cool, off we go and enjoy the Crater. On my way to the Crater I noticed that there is a RV campground just off the highway so that will be our stopping location for the night. The RV campgournd has wifi, but it was not working.
