We arrived in Split and found the Old Town, knowing there was a hostel somewhere there which we did manage to find. Then we found the police station to file our report. Its not terribly easy to explain car things here I think alot got lost in translation! After waiting for about an hour the traffic police came and took photos of our dent and filled out a report. They didnt seem to thrilled to have to be dealing with us...we were interupting World Cup soccer. Let me just say Croatian police they do not smile! We parked the car outside the Budget rental office and went to go meet some other hostel members for a fun night out in the Split clubs, which turned out to be hot, crowded and very smoky but fun. The next morning we returned the car, yeah I was pretty happy to get rid of that! We checked out Diocletians Palace which was built about 2,000 years ago and is part of the Old Town of Split and later hopped on a ferry to the island of Brac.
