I was in desperate need of a hotel stay, so we spent Saturday in Eugene and got a room at the Express Inn.  Nothing fancy, but the room was nice and had free wi fi.

I've learned many things after 5 weeks on the road.  Here are a few that come to mind:

I've learned many things after 5 weeks on the road

Sometimes towns on maps are really nothing more than 2 little boarded up shacks.

I will never live in Utah.

Never, ever, ever again will I take a warm shower for granted.  After about 3 days without one, it just feels so good to be clean.  I've also mastered the art of taking a 5 minute coin operated shower.  In that time I'm able to wash and condition my sun bleached hair, scour my entire body, and shave both my armpits and legs (above AND below the knee!).  Next time you shower at home, set a timer for 5 minutes and see how far you get.

Products we can't live without - baby wipes, the ipods, Nalgene water bottles, cheese sticks, my hanging toiletries bag, SPF 30 Neutrogena moisturizer.

Things we should have never brought with us - a hair dryer, our running shoes, my purse, a 3rd backpack, big hot dog cooking sticks, tupperware.

New things we love - Seneca dried apple chips (cinnamon flavor) and Safeway grocery stores.
