More Water falls.....

Day 2 in Iguazu and Mel woke me up nice and early to go to the Falls on the Argentinian side. We headed to the bus station to get the bus hoping that the days travel would prove to be easier than yesterday. We arrived at around 9ish and paid our 30 pesos each to access the park.

The Park on the Argentinian side is made up of several parts that can be done in any order they are the Upper tail, Lower trail, San Martin Island and Devils Throat. These are all linked by a little train service that goes between the main stops.

The Upper trail - This basically takes you along the top edge of most of the major waterfalls so you can see down them and how they form.

The Lower trail - This takes you along the bottom of the waterfalls so you get an idea of the sheer scale and power of some of these mighty beasts. Some are so powerful that the vapour coming off them causes rainows to be formed - very cool.

San Martin Island - This is an island between the Brazilian and Argentinian side that has a free boat service. On the island you get a birds eye view of some of the Falls and can book boat rides under the Falls. We decided in our wisdom that A: this sounded like fun and B: we wouldnt get too wet. It was 45 pesos each for what turned out to be a 10 minute journey. A little expensive for what it was, basically getting dunked in one of the biggest showers in the world - but still fun.

The last and maybe best part of the park is Devils Throat - this is the biggest and best of the waterfalls were 3 rivers collide to create one of the most stunning things me and Mel has ever seen. Basically you walk about 2k over bridges to the top of the Waterfall and can see down as the water casades about 300m into the river below. So much Vapour is produced that you cannot see the bottom of the ravine and several rainbows are created.

Almost worth the flight up here alone.............

All this took us from about 9 - 6 to see everything. We took our weary legs back to the hostel and chilled in Peurto Iguazu for the rest of the night with a beer and steak or two......my steak habit is starting to become a problem!!!

Pics to flollow
