We left Pamplona really late today. Stopped back at the cathedral and then at a wonderful bakery and a store to buy a new watch. Walked on bike pathes for ages before hitting dirt again. Cook was just a whiny baby all the first half of the day. Took the dirt path up a hill, and another but it was good. Passed through several towns that were absolute ghost towns, like all the residents were brain eating zombies hiding inside till dark. Climbed up a fairly steep hill and at the top were all the giant wind turbines. We have never been so close to them. The wind was crazy. The road down was crazier, it was a steep flood channel filled with rocks. Don´t ask me what they do when it rains. The road was killing our knees, got to the bottom and then it was more gradual. Walked on a beautiful path through fields lined with the almond trees whose blossoms smelled like honey. Found the Albergue, it was at the edge of town and only 5 euros a night. There were two new people, one from Germany and one from Brazil. We went with the Brazilian to the grocery store and then as we were cooking pasta the Aussies showed up! They had left before us and we had assumed they were always in front. The lady at the Albergue made a fire for us and then we all went to bed.

Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh
