The Eco House we visited is nestled between the waste/recycling centre for the town, and a small lake.  The pillow-lava rock formations and landscape reminded me very much of my home near Vaseux lake.  This lake was also partly a nature preserve and was home to over 100 nesting herons during the summer.  Only 2 rooms, but very engaging exhibits and host. The house uses & demonstrates alternative and effecient energy sollutions such as solar, wind, heat pumps, etc....

Travelling east from here, the landscape more frequently included gigantic wind turbines.
