On Saturday the 12th , we headed out to the countryside for a visit to Tuse. This is the small town where Birgittes parents have a summer home. We planned a menu for that evening and headed off to Irma to pick up the food. The countryside was so peaceful and beautiful. It didn't even feel like we were in Danmark anymore!
After a tour , and a danish lunch that was so big it wiped us out, we took a brief nap and also that country air hit us!!

Afterward, we did a slide show of our mini travels to Stockholm and Norway for Bjarne and Lis. Jim and Birgitte cooked a lamb ( not for me , I had a steak.. ) we enjoyed a late evening dinner , which I understand is very typical for the country ;)
We had a great time, good conversation and lots of laughs!!
Jim even whipped the milk to fresh cream for the berry dessert. Yes, I took pictures of this for his sisters !! We headed to bed about 2am that evening and slept like rocks in the dead silence of the countryside. We were in no hurry when we woke the next morning. Everything in Copenhagen is closed on Sunday so we enjoyed a nice leisurely day in the country side planting gopher traps with Bjarne. Well lets get this straight, Bjarne set all of the traps, Alberto cut the weeds ( he couldn't stand the sight and size of them ) , Jim wheelbarrowed the chopped weeds to the burning site , Birgitte and her mom replanted and yes I was the supervisor / photographer for this orchestration.. After the hard work , Bjarne took us for a ride to see Tuse church , there was much debate over this unplanned side trip but it turned out to be a truly charming little church with hand painted ceilings. Very unique and original.

After another Danish lunch , ( at 5pm) we headed to the train station to go back to Copenhagen. Once again , we go straight to Norreport and back to the APT. We have totally got this city down pat now and it kind of feels like we live here :)
We have one day left in Copenhagen and that is reserved for Scandanavia's Castles..
