As some of you know, Slovenia has a very famous seaside they are very proud of :) Only 5 cities and towns are situated on the seaside, but hey, some countries don't have even even that. Three main cities are Koper, the main harbour, Portoroz, main touristic destination and Piran, a historical, well preserved coastal city. On sunday morning Jasmina took me to the coast by car. It's only less than 2 hours to get there from Ljubljana by car. We stopped in Portoroz, where you can easily reach Piran by foot from, just following the coast. Portoroz is a typical touritic place with a lot of hotels, restaurants and arranged beaches. Piran is just a 30 mins away by foot, behind a mountain. Piran is more traditional old coastal city just like other Adriatic coastal cities, with all the elements of

it. A church on a hill above the sea and remainings of a former fortress makes this city very beautiful with a view over Tartini's square, named after a great composer and violinist Giuseppe Tartini. Tartini himself stands there on a square with a violin in his hands. Beside him, on the square dominate the cathedral of St. George and Piran city hall, all of them made in white stone. I really enjoyed my stay there, in both cities before we hit the road back home.
