A few days in the capital

We had to be in Lima for 24th October, as this was the date we were to start the Inca trail adventure! So we thought we should get there beforehand to enjoy a few days in the capital.

Another horrendous night bus later we reached the capital and straight to bed we went! We stayed in the Lionbackpackers hostal in Miraflores, which was a little pricier than what we were used to, but the atmosphere seemed good. A lot of young travellers all up for a laugh! We met a French girl, 2 crazy Australian guys, a Belgian girl and a few others.

First impression Lima is a lot nicer than Quito. Saying that though, it is a huge capital and the miriad of cars have no filter in their exhaust pipes... it´s like breathing pure polution!! Not our idea of travelling really! The 2 main squares in the centre and the new complex by the beach in Miraflores are well worth a visit, but on the whole, a couple of days in Lima are sufficient!

I will always remember Lima as the place where I left our bank card in the cash machine... they give you your money before the card over here... lame excuse I know! Good job we have another bank card to a dfferent account, but this one charges us. D´oh! How stupid of me! We cancelled the card within a few hours anyway, and the new card has already reached Dylan´s parents´ house. Just need to send it over now. Lets hope this will be the first and last time I leave my brain at home!
