We visited Utah's state capital building.  The marble inside the building was unique with the way the created patterns.  Some of the marble looked like faces.  The solid marble columns were the biggest in the ..... ? (how quickly I forget)oh well lol.

You can't go to Salt Lake City with out going to Temple Square to see the Mormons.  They scare me but that another story...  The Temple Square, all the mormon building, are beautiful.  Their columns, although they looked like marble, were really made out of pine and painted to look like marble.  Wish my faux marble painting looked that good.  Their's looked like the real thing.  There were plenty of very nice mormons around to tell you about the buildings.  They, the Mormons, had guides from all over the world to conduct tours in whatever language you spoke.  They said they have over 5 million visitors a year. We also went into the Assemble building (or something like that).  There was someone practicing on the pipe organ.  We sat for awhile and enjoyed the music.

On the Road again, this time we pasted through the salt flats.  They went on forever.  At at scenic overlook Randy talked to a gentlemen from Mass. in a 57 Chevy with a 283 small block eng with a manual transmission on the floor (if you can't tell Randy is helping me write tonight). He was very nice and is also driving across county.

All along the Salt Lake on I80 were telephone poles with either broken lines or no lines.  We came across a signed that said this is where the transcontinental telephone lines were joined.  We assummed that what the poles were used for.

In Utah the canyons were massive. The canyons were used by Butch Casidy and other outlaws to hide out.  I know why now.  The pictures do no do them justice .  Don't know where the pictures of the canyons went.  I have to upload them another time.
