Day 4 I was off to Ayutthaya. A city of beautiful old temple ruins. We went to many different Wats on this trip but the highlights were Wat Phra-Si-Sanpeth, where the Theme Song from Mortal Combat kept playing in my head! Parts of the movie were filmed there. And Wat Mahathat, where there is a beautiful Buddha head in the tree roots. I had to stay in the dorm room this night at the Shanti Lodge because there was a misunderstanding with the bookings. The dorm wasn’t too bad but the mattress was covered with vinyl so it was quite hot.
