Today we got up a little late...... Guess why :)

As if we didn't drink enough the night before we kicked off the day by going the Porterhouse to drink. This is a modern Irish pub with a huge slection of beer. I had been here in 2005 and liked the place, the service can be a bit slow though......There I had Hersbrucker, an hoppy Irish Pilsner and Will had Chiller and Temple Brau, two different Lagers. He took more coasters and I stole the beer menu for him. After we drank a while we decided to go on the tour of the Jameson Distellery.

Three guys from Ireland, one guy from Scotland, an Englishman, a Welshman and a German all bought me something to drink!

We made the horrible mistake of trying to use the Dublin bus system. One bus driver told us to go to one bus stop to get to Jameson and once we got to that bus stop that driver told us to go back to the stop we were just at .......so we ended up walking to the north side of the city.

Along the way Will detoured us into the Sin É Pub, cuz you know how walking makes you thirsty! Sin É is a bit of a bohemian pub, it looks like a somewhat traditional pub but they play alot of 70s classic rock and the staff look more "punk" than anything. Alot of the signs are in Irish which is cool. There we drank Stella Artois, a Belgium Lager which was really good. There were people smoking pot outside in the beer garden and some guy which had passed out on a table, it was a pretty cool pub! We walked a few more blocks and got to Jameson.

We got to the plant and I took a few pictures. We used our Dublin passes and the guy at the counter liked Will's Marilyn Manson shirt so I asked him which are the best pubs for metal music and he gave us a map of the city and told us about three pubs, Bruxelles, Dominion and Fibber Magee's.

He said our tour would start in half an hour so we went inside the Jameson gift shop and Will went wild. He bought shot glasses and a 12 year aged bottle of Jameson and some other shit.

Our tour started with a movie about the history of the Jameson plant and whiskey making. I had told Will that when they call for volunteers to make sure he did it. It was great because Christopher, the guy we talked to about metal music on the way in was our tour guide and he picked Will to be one of the whiskey taste testers at the end of the tour.

We went through the tour and learned all about whiskey but the end was great! They send you into the distillery pub and you get a free drink of Jameson any way you want it while you watch the people who volunteered go through the whiskey taste testing.

The start out by sitting the volunteers down and giving them a shot of Jameson, then they drink some water and try Paddy's Gold another Irish whiskey and then more water and then a shot of Middleton I think. So out of those 3 you had to pick your favorite. Almost everyone including Will picked Jameson.

So next you drink more water, another shot of Jameson, more water, then they do a shot of Johnnie Walker, a Scottish whisky more water and then a shot of Jack Daniels, the American whiskey. Then they ask you to pick your favorite between those three and nearly everyone chose Jameson.

I have to say Will looked happier than a pervert in a porno store to be doing all those shots. I have all of this on video. Will got an official Irish Whiskey expert certificate and then we went to the 1780 Jameson bar down the street to continue drinking.

Will was now on a shot an a beer pace so he was drinking Jameson and Smithwick's and I was drinking Jameson and Diet. We saw the biggest god damn bottle of Jameson in the bar so I had to take a picture of it! We watched Munster and Leinster kick some English and Welsh ass in rugby while we were drinking. And also some retarded baseball-type game......I have no idea what it was!

It was getting later so we decided to go back across the Liffey to the south side of town to our hotel to drop off the stuff Will bought at the Distellery. After we left the hotel we went to Eamonn Doran's in Temple Bar to drink some more. This is a different pub. It has like 3-4 floors and is set in an old firestation. They serve food as well. It seems they play more rock music than anything else, they were playing some Metallica and Marilyn Manson in the pub. Definately a young and loud crowd in here! We had a few pints here before heading out.

We decided to get something to eat so we stopped in the Vat House for some more beer and grub. The cute Irish bartender, who was there last night, thought I sounded like I had a slight Irish accent .... YAY, what a compliment! I know he was flirting with me but I don't care! We ate there and had some more Jameson and very good food before heading to Bruxelles to listen to some metal!

We wondered up onto Graffton St. and found Bruxelles and went down stairs to the metal bar. It was already packed in there! They had tv's with Metallica dvds playing and this awesome DJ who'd play damn near anything you can think of so long as it was metal.

I was drinking Carlsberg and Will was drinking Smithwick's until he discovered they had Jager in the freezer, then he was drinking Jager and Smithwick's all night! It was such an awesome night....... so many good tunes to listen to and I didn't have to buy much booze.

Three guys from Ireland, one guy from Scotland, an Englishman, a Welshman and a German all bought me something to drink! I love Europe!

Will stole 5 shot glasses from the pub. We drank alot of booze and at 2:30 when the pub was closing we both stumbled back to the hotel.

The Temple Bar district was hopping as all the pubs were lettig out. I've discovered that Temple Bar is packed no matter the time of year, there are always people drinking there.
