Coming from our reformed backgrounds, skipping over Heidelberg was unacceptable. We decided to make our way up to the castle over there, which has a fantastic view of the city and the church. One striking note though- they were selling souveniers and snacks out of the church. There were at least three shops right in the side of the church. If it follows similar events in Biblical history, Heidelberg might be in trouble. After a nice 2 hour tour, we decided that we would head over to Mainz for a nice night out of town, as Heidelberg's tourist crowd is directly reflected in its higher lodging prices.
