oh...direct flight is different from non-stop?

Well, I didn't miss my flight...but I didn't exactly reach San Diego either.  It is important to define some terms here:

nonstop flight: makes no stops

I was told to call 1-800-i-fly-swa....although I don't think I will in the future

direct flight: makes many stops on same plane

I had the latter type of flight.  My flight originated in Manchester, NH...then continued on to Las Vegas, Reno, and supposedly Oakland before reaching San Diego, CA.  My 6:05 am flight didn't board until 7am.  At 8:30am we still had not left the runway.  At 9 am we boarded a different plane (due to mechanical issues with the first plane) and began our flight about 3 hours behind schedule.  Despite some rough wind landing in Las Vegas our flight was going quite well, until we arrived in Reno, Nevada.  As we boarded the passengers joining us there, it began to snow. Hard.  Reno acquired 2 feet of snow in the hour we sat on the plane to be deiced over and over again.  At 1 pm the decision was made from the airport that all flights out of Reno were canceled.  I waited in line at the gate desk to find another flight.  After 2 hours I was able to make it to the front of the line in time to be told that I needed to call 1-800-i-fly-swa.  Although, no more will I fly Southwest Air.  I called the number.  I was put on hold and then told the next flight I could take would be Monday at 7:40am.  WHAT?  I took that reservation, although the airline was unwilling to give me either a food or a hotel voucher for either of the two nights I would need to stay in Reno, on account of the flight being canceled due to weather.  I resigned for the day and checked into the Travel Lodge near the airport for $49.99.  I was bored, tired, and hungry, so I went to bed with no dinner at 8pm.
