We spent a week in Buenos Aires and got to know the city pretty well. Its a cool place parts are like New York with sky scrapers and wide tree-lined avenues, and other parts seem very Parisian with sidewalk cafes and leafy plazas.

We saw sights such as the Casa Rosada with the famous balcony from which Evita spoke to the people but spent most of our time wandering around the shops, and enjoying city life.

All in all BA has been our favourite city in South America.

Mal convinced Leigh to do a Tango class in the famous Cafe Tortoni.  It wasn´t as bad as he expected and the 2 litres of beer beforehand gave him some Dutch courage! Turns out he was quite a natural!

We also went to watch a tango show over a lovely meal of steak and red wine.

For a change one evening we went to a cinema showing English films and watched the new Transformers film as we missed the showing in La Serena.

Another evening we decided to experience the Argentinian clubbing scene and took a trip to Pacha nightclub as an early night out for Mal´s birthday. The music was brilliant much better than we expected but it was extremely busy and expensive - only to be expected from Pacha nightclub!

All in all BA has been our favourite city in South America.
