Once we touched down in Jakarta from Yogjakarta we hopped straight on a bus at the airport to a town called Bogor. We had heard that Jakarta was a bit of a dump and as we weren't flying out until Wed (and we arrived on a Friday) we decided to head to Bogor for 2 nights. We didn't know much about the town except that it had nice botanical gardens and was more picturesque that the bustling city of Jakarta.
The bus took us under two hours and we weren't long finding a guest house on a secluded residential street. It was run by some family and it really felt like we were in an old style bed and breakfast!

That night we walked up to the main street in search of internet cafe to touch base with him and found that the street was lined with young teenagers all sitting with their motorbikes. It was insane! It was like some rally was about to kick off. On our way back they were all revved up and ready to take off so we stood back and watched them all drive off - it seemed it was there Saturday night hang out! Of course I had to jump in with a group of them and pose for a photo - much to their delight!!

We paid a visit the the Botanical Gardens the next day and it proved to be a lovely afternoon walking about. We didn't get to walk around unnoticed though - everywhere we looked or turned we were literally accosted by groups of students, young and old, boys and girls - all wanting to interview us for school projects and practice their English with us. It was insane! After the questions they always wanted to take our photo and would scream with delight if we put our arms around them. Some of the younger kids also asked us for our autograph - it was insane!

For a short while we actually felt famous! After a few hours it was starting to get a little annoying so we had to hide in the cafe for a while but once out the students weren't long in catching up with us again! And it wasn't just the groups of students - family's and older couples all stared and smiled or waved at us as we walked past. We came to the conclusion that they mustn't get many westerners walking around so we were quiet the novelty to them!

After our short stint at being famous it was time to head back to Jakarata for our final few days in Java, Indonesia.
