We arrived in the desert town of Jaisalmer early in the morning - we awoke to a man who popped his head in our sleeper to take 20 rupees for a "tourist tax"- scammed once again!

After hearing horror stories from other travellers of the camel trek bullying and being thrown out of guesthouses if you dont sign up - we were edge.  We found a half decent option and signed up with our new dutch friend (a funny and charasmatic woman who we spent our entire time in the desert with)!

We were dropped by jeep at a location off the side of the highway where we were greeted by ZuZu, MaTias, and Sham Babba (the CREEP).  While we throughouly enjoyed the desert scenery, the camels, camping under the stars, and most of our company the head camel driver's presence was soon UNappreciated!  It seems Baba has his heart set on marrying a foreign girl - the three of us were quick to put him in his place and the other two boys spent the rest of the weekend working hard to cut the tension.

We visited a number of villages where the families rarely have anyone come through - they were so curious but shy at the same time.  It's amazing how much you can communicate through body language and playing charades - we had a wonderful time with the people.  We taught the kids how to use a camera and were stunned at how different our lives actually were.  Our camel drivers had never even heard of McDonalds!!!!

Love the pic of Jonny. It's hilarious. He kinda looks charming, and mentally challenged at the same time...
